1. Sexually Transmitted Diseases :-
Sexually transmitted diseases are the types of infections/bacteria/viruses that are exchanged at the time of sexual contact. These diseases are of various types with different symptoms. Some of them can be treated with antibiotics while some are hard to treat. The sexually transmitted diseases are mainly found in cases of people aged 18-26 years. The diseases mentioned below are some of the main in the list.
- Genital Herpes
Unprotected sex is the primary reason for sexually transmitted diseases. Those who do unprotected sex with prostitutes or have multiple sex partners or the partner who is suffering from some infection, or MSM (men sex with men), and other similar cases, consist of the major part of total STD cases.
Most STD`s can be treated with antibiotics and medicines that remove infections, while the graver issues like HIV need more complex and long term treatment.
2. Genital Warts (HPV) :-
HPV is also a sexually transmitted disease but it is mentioned separately because it is the most common type of STD. The issue affects young teens and adults the most and issues include genital warts and cancers. The issue can remain hidden for a long time. If you had sex with a HPV infected person once in your life, the issue can take a grip on you even after years. It can show up in the form of bumps in the genital area. Usually, the issue gets removed on its own but if it stays for a long time like 2-3 weeks, then it needs medical attention.
The most common reason for this issue is oral, vaginal or anal sex with the person who is already infected with the issue. As already mentioned, it is not necessary for HPV infected person to have visual symptoms of it, so you might get infected without knowing it. So, sexual protection and hygiene are ultimately required while having sexual relation.
The symptoms and issues caused due to HPV virus can be treated with the right vaccination/ medication, but there is no treatment to kill the virus. So, it’s better to get the treatment in due time.
3. Balanitis :-
The risk of having Balanitis is higher in uncircumcised men (people with skin on the head of penis. The penis tip (penis pink head) becomes red and swelling affects the head and foreskin. It causes pain, irritation, discharge of fluid in the penis. The uncircumcised men fall more for this issue because the skin covers the part and all the bad bacteria get covered under the skin, if not cleaned properly.
The main reason behind the happening of this issue is the lack of hygiene and sexual infection. But the over-cleansing can also cause rashes and in turn this issue. Use of scented soaps, chemical lotions, bad quality condoms, no hygiene after unprotected sex, etc. can cause this issue.
The issue generally gets cured by itself, save proper care and hygiene is maintained. Also, stop the use of all chemical and scented soaps/lotions. Use warm clean water to clean the part. If you are unable to get rid of it, you can consult the doctor who would prescribe you an antibiotic or antifungal medicine.
4. Yeast Infection :-
This issue is mainly considered as a woman problem but men also suffer from this issue. The issue comes with the symptoms like redness and white patches on the penis glans. Later, you can also find a white smelly substance under the skin of the penis with itching and irritation. As these symptoms can also be found in STD issues, it is important to get a proper diagnosis of the situation. The yeast infection can turn into candidiasis, candidal balanitis, and moniliasis.
It is caused due to a fungus called candida. It is always there in some amount in the body but factors like sex with yeast infected woman, poor hygiene and moist atmosphere, etc. can increase the amount of candida in the penis and the issue takes complex situations.
In a major number of cases, anti-fungal creams and ointments are sufficient to clear it up. In some cases, if the issue comes up again, then your doctor may prescribe a longer treatment.
5. Urinary Tract Infection :-
Urinary tract infection is one of the most common forms of infections. The urinary tract consists of kidney, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The infection, in most cases, spread in the lower part, ie; bladder and urethra. The sufferer faces issues like burning during urination, urgency for urination, long time to pass urine, bloody or cloudy urine, rectal pain, etc.
The infection spreads from microbes which are small organisms that can’t be seen with naked eyes. It can be caused by bacteria and in some cases by fungi and viruses.
After confirming the reasons of the UTI, it is treated accordingly. In most cases, where the issue is caused due to bacteria, antibiotics are prescribed to cure it. In other cases, antiviral medicines are given.
6. Penile Genital Rash :-
Rashes on penile organ will show in the form of red sores/ bumps, which may be painful and itchy. If not treated in time, the issue can turn into a major problem which can take longer to cure.
The issue can be caused by some infection or rough use of penis, allergies, autoimmune disorders, or sexually transmitted diseases. The issue can take the form of any of the problems like balanitis, yeast infection, jock itch, or more complex problems.
If it is just a genital rash then it can be easily removed with some relevant cream as prescribed the Doctor. If the issue grows into some other infectious disease then it would need proper medical attention.
7. Jock Itch :-
Jock itch usually spreads to penis area, buttock and inner thighs. It can cause redness, continuous itching, rashes, peeling and cracking of the skin, etc. It can create an uncomfortable and restless situation but it is not that risky.
Jock itch is caused by a fungal infection, which is related to a fungal infection group known as tinea. This fungi (dermatophytes) is usually not harmful and is found on the nails, hair, and skin. But when it comes to the contact of warmth and moisture, it starts multiplying rapidly.

After proper diagnosis, your doctor will suggest antibiotics medicines to remove bacteria. The duration of treatment and type of medicine vary as per the kind of infection.
9. Urethritis :-
Urethritis is an inflammation and irritation in the urethra. The urethra is responsible to carry urine and semen out of the body. The infection in this part creates pain and irritation in urinating, the frequent feel of urination, itching, and tingling near the tip of the penis, the appearance of blood in urine and semen, etc. The symptoms of this issue match with Urinary tract infection but the treatment is quite different from it.
The main reason for urethritis is an infection caused by Bacteria or Viruses. The bacteria infection is more common and it can spread to bladder and kidney.
The treatment of urethritis is done with a course of antibiotics and antiviral medications. It may include a variety of medicines and treatment methods, based on the type of urethritis.
